A Green Eco Wedding Show at the Bently Reserve, San Francisco

A Soolip Wedding could also be called an eco-friendly and sustainable “Green” wedding as that was the theme in the wedding show at the Bently Reserve. According to Wanda Wen, founder of a Soolip wedding, Soolip is Chinese for life’s destiny to seek wisdom, and also  a place where beauty and inspiration meet every day. The wedding vendors were either certified as green businesses or used sustainable resources such as tree-free paper wedding invitations from  Elizabeth Hubbell studio.

I went as a guest of my best friend Jill and bride-to-be, and the first thing we did is hit the bar for our vitamin C and amazing blood orange mimosas from Best Beverage Catering. Then we sampled amazing banana, chocolate and peach vanilla cake samples from Napa Valley’s Perfect Endings cakes, which will soon be opening a location in San Francisco! Jill and I toasted at the table of Classic Party rentals lovely set reception table before checking out more sweets at Kara’s Cupcakes (the passionfruit filling was the most sophisticated and possible best cupcake I’ve ever had. Worth the extra gym hour!) The main ballroom at the Bentley had modern table settings from Gump’s, a local and unique wedding registry. Yelena Johnson from The Stylish Soiree is a green wedding planner and also had the most ‘Green’ wedding registry: give the bride and groom the gift of a flowers and vegetables to plant in their garden that will keep giving for years. The band from Wayne Foster Entertainment wowed the crowd, and the sushi table from McCalls Catering (the exclusive wedding caterer of The Bently) was a most delicious lunch to balance out all those cocktails and  wedding cake. The fashion show was the main event with designer bridal gowns from Marina Morrison bridal in San Francisco. Designer wedding dresses featured from Jenny Peckham, Kenneth Pool, Claire Pettibone, Marchesa, Amsala, Caroline Herrera and Oscar de la Renta.
