Wedding photographer Melissa Mermin at her booth at the Bay Area Wedding Network showcase at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio, San Francisco
I’ve been attending BAWN meetings since I moved to the bay area 5 years ago, and got my first Napa wedding photography referral from another photographer I met there. Networking is planting good karma seeds, and I’ve done a lot of that this month! Both days took place at The Golden Gate Club of the Presidio (overlooking the Presdio Chapel), and the reception area had an amazing view of the Golden Gate bridge and bay. The Golden Gate Club is a lovely wedding venue. The first event was on Sunday, 2/27 and was a bridal show of sorts but more of an educational experience for newly engaged couples called ‘Match Game’ where couples visited each of our tables and asked questions about what to expect from a professional wedding photographer (or a florist, wedding cake designer…) Then we had a fashion show as well a Q & A session for your bridal dress salon with wedding planner (and former owner of The Unique Bride wedding dress salon) Tosca Clark, (in a lovely black plumed hat.) The models got gorgeous from make up and hair stylist Jim Avila. Then the fashion show started showcasing wedding and bridesmaid dress designer Jinza Jin of Jinza Couture Bridal, who has a lovely shop on Union Street in San Francisco. Custom hat designer Melissa Bolin from Kitty Andrews Millinery showed off her couture wedding hat collection, competeing for attention only from the colorful bridal bouquets from Laurel Floral Designs.

Constance from Sunshine Flowers, a wedding floral designer, shows her color at the Golden Gate Club, San Francisco
The main room at the Golden Gate Club was tranformed into a cool club with lighting from Just DeLights, table flower arrangements from Sunshine Flowers , music and MC Jerry from wedding DJ Portable Party Crew. and Jonthan Metcalf from MetMedia Wedding Films rocked the AV/projection and the video interviews of the engaged couples. Ballroom dancer to the stars Cynthia Glinka got the couples up off their feet learning how to not step on each others toes for their first wedding dance. We were wined and dined well by An Affair To Remember catering, cosmopolitans (my fav) from Bartenders Unlimited, and dessert from wedding cake makers True Confections (the banana-vanilla my fav flavor), Krumbs Cakes (his princess wedding cake is worth the extra hour at the gym) and the best local chocolatier Coco Delce. Live wedding music and wedding harpist was provided by Wine Country Piano Music and Strings. All of these sponsors were brought together by the fabulous wedding and event planner Gwen Helbush from Where to Start Wedding and Event Management.
